Shakib-Al-Hasan  Biography , Career & Net worth

Beyond a doubt the finest cricketer Bangladesh has ever produced, Shakib Al Hasan is an oft-forgotten champion of his era. Shakib is one of the most stark examples of the harsh truth that cricket is not men played by eleven men where a single person cannot effect the decision to a significant amount.

Shakib was a part of the team that had defeated a depleted West Indies on their soil at their den in 2009 — without a doubt a watershed moment in the history of a country for whom victory has never come easily. The finale was produced by the man himself, who scored a scintillating 97-ball 96 to mastermind a 217-run chase after snaring eight wickets.

An amazing strokeplayer who could switch between the first and fifth gears with amazing ease and a sharp-witted spinner known for foxing batsmen around the world with subtle variations in line, length, and flight, the stature of Shakib the all-rounder is often lost when compared to Shakib the sole saviour of Bangladesh cricket.

The captaincy stint did not help him much, but as the crown changed hands, Shakib continues to deliver day in and day out despite the repeated failure of his side. There is little doubt regarding Bangladesh’s dismal performances as a Test side, but the same cannot be said about the single-minded diligence with which Shakib has delivered goods for them over time without much success.

On the performance front, he has always been a top pick. He became the first and the only cricketer in history to attain the number 1 all-rounder position in all formats of cricket (Test, Twenty20 and One Day Internationals). He recently added another accolade to his name during the 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe. Shakib got his 400th international wicket and he became the sixth person in the history of the game with a double distinction of 8000 runs and 400 international wickets after Sanath Jayasuriya, Kapil Dev, Chris Cairns, Shahid Afridi and Jacques Kallis.

Shakib is currently the top-ranked all-rounder in International Cricket Council (ICC)’s list for both One-Day Internationals(ODIs) and T20Is and is ranked second in the ICC ranking of Test all-rounders. He is also featured in the ICC ODI bowlers’ ranking in the third position.

Shakib currently has a net worth of USD $35 million (INR 250 crore) with earnings from cricket salary endorsements, sponsors, cosmetic, event management and restaurant businesses. Clearly, if anyone from Bangladesh has rich feather hat, then it has to be Shakib Al Hasan.
